V4 Film Days

As part of the Visegrad (V4) Film Days and the Year of Czech Music 2024, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Stockholm presented contemporary films from the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia to the audience at the Zita art cinema in Stockholm over the course of four days.
 

Representing Czech cinema is the historical biographical drama Il Boemo, directed by Petr Václav, which opened the V4 Film Days.

The film tells the story of the extraordinary and unknown life of Josef Mysliveček - “Il Boemo” - one of the most prolific and interesting composers of the second half of the 18th century, who was also an inspiration for W. A. Mozart. It takes the viewer on a journey through Italy, where he became a legend.

All films were screened in their original version with English subtitles.

The films screening were organized by the Czech Centre Stockholm in cooperation with Zita Folkets Bio cinema, the Swedish-Czech-Slovak Association, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Stockholm, the Polish Institute in Stockholm, the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Stockholm, and the Embassy of Hungary in Stockholm.
