Kulturnatt 2024: Work in Progress

Date: 20 April 2024 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Venue: Studio PANK, Sparbanksvägen 70, 129 30 Hägersten

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Stockholm, together with the Czech Centre in Stockholm, supported the organization of a pop-up exhibition titled "Work in Progress" as part of the Kulturnatt in Stockholm. The exhibition featured a unique installation that combined the work of Czech architect and designer Vojtěch Kordovský with the designs of the Swedish design and architecture studio PANK.

The title of the exhibition, "Work in Progress," not only referred to the never-ending process of the designer’s work but also to the unique curatorial approach to the entire installation.

The installation was a collaboration between Vojtěch Kordovský and the members of Studio PANK, who complemented his works without knowing their meaning and context with their own original installations.

The opening of the exhibition took place on 20 April 2024 at 18:00 at Studio PANK, Sparbanksvägen 70, 129 30 Hägersten. The accompanying program included a dialogue between the designers and guided tours.

Vojtěch Kordovský studied architecture at the UMPRUM in Prague and is currently working as a designer in addition to his profession. His works often feature glass elements, which he subjects to the challenges of modern forms and new technologies. In 2023, he co-founded Studio Sitta with Karla Kislinger. The studio not only produces their own work but also brings the creations of selected Scandinavian designers to the Czech Republic.

Studio PANK is a multidisciplinary studio founded in 2019 in Stockholm. The six-member design collective focuses on almost all forms of architecture, landscape and design, which allows Studio PANK a very wide range of creative possibilities. Studio PANK consists of Amanda Hjälmeby, Jonathan Berglund, Patrik Filip Johansson, Mikael Johansson, Gabriela Stenclova and Hannes Hemb.
